**Wednesday 30+ Playoff Format - PLEASE READ!**

Gentlemen,

Please read the following information regarding your Wednesday 30+ Playoffs:

The 30+ League has been broken into two divisions for the playoffs "A" and "B". Top 6 teams are in "A", while the bottom four are in pool "B".

The 6 "A" teams will play three round-robin games with match-ups based on regular season final standings. In other words, the higher you finished, the lower seeds you play, and vice versa. For the "A" teams that believe that they should be in the "B" division, don't be alarmed, there is still a chance to move on to the "B" division finals which I will explain below.

Top four "A" teams after the round-robin will advance to the semis on May 9th (1 v 4, 2 v 3), with the finals slotted in for May 16th.

For the four teams in the "B" Division, each team will play one another once in the round-robin. The first place team after the round-robin will receive a bye and an automatic berth to the finals. Here is where the losing "A" teams get involved. For the remaining fifth and sixth place teams, the team with the better record will drop to the "B" pool and play the 2nd seeded team in a semi-final match-up on May 9th to meet the first place "B" team in the finals on May 16th. This will help keep everything fair for all teams, giving the mid-pack teams in the regular the season a chance to play in both "A" and "B" divisions.

This playoff format has been designed to keep things fair for ALL 10 teams involved, and giving the opportunity for half the teams to move on to the next round.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1) Do NOT bring out any illegal players for the playoffs! We will be keeping a close eye on this.
2) OT in the playoff round-robin is identical to regular season play (same shootout system will apply)
3) In the semis and the finals, teams will skate to a 10 minute (run-time) 4 on 4 OT period. If nothing is settled after the extra frame, a three-man NHL style shootout will take place with Home team's choice (higher ranked seed) of which team shoots first.
4) In case of a tie, the following tie-breakers will take place:

a) Head-to-Head
b) Most Wins
c) LEAST goals against
d) Head-to-head regular season record
e) LEAST penalized team in playoffs

Good luck to all teams!
